This article really tried to relate to teachers and explain to them how action research and collaborative research can take place in a classroom. It is very apparent that the teacher refusing to allow the researcher in the class had a strong effect on Wells. This was apparent in the concluding paragraph as to how his conclusions are formed. It is also clear that the researcher has decided to focus more on collaborative research due to the opinion it is difficult to step into a classroom dynamic and have a full understanding of whats goin on in the class. Therefore, the teacher will use a lesson using collaborative work to achieve the goals and statistics Wells is looking for.

The Feldman article speaks as to why it is difficult for teachers to step outside of their norms and to why it is important for teachers to understand who their students are. In all honesty this was a difficult article to read. I continued to read sections to attempt to glean the information Feldman was trying to present. I believe what Feldman was getting at was the fact that no teacher can teach a specific way forever. The teacher must adapt to the specific students just as students must adapt to their teachers. I believe Feldman is also trying to say that it is ultimately important for this to occur. The reason for this is due to the fact that teachers are held responsible for the students actions. I am unclear as to whether Feldman agrees with this premise, but nonetheless understands that it does take place.

Chapter five is a chapter that revolves around professional growth. This growth is dependent on being a life long learner. The question that is posed in this chapter is when is a teacher done learning? When is a teacher ready for the classroom? The problem is the answer to these questions are very different. The first question's answer is that we are never done learning. The second question's answer is much more fluid. A student that is preparing to a be a teacher can be totally dependent on the student. Teachers must continue their thirst for knowledge or they will no longer continue to improve as a teacher. This chapter is all about how to be a life long learner adn the process of improving your education. This idea is to be the best teacher you can be for as long as you can do it.

Chapter Four was a summary on problem solving and how it is to be used in setting up an action research project. In my opinion these solutions are effective and useful. These solution strategies can be applied to any type of action research. Setting up the basic before the question investigation and after the investigation questions is extremely helpful. This unit makes it clear that action research does not necessarily need to be an in depth research project. It can be something as simple as improving attendance.
